We all know that a good posture is vital for health. Poor posture is easily recognizable, and it forms because of bad habits continued for many years. In fact, it is quite evident in adults. However, only a few people know why having a good posture is necessary for better health.
What exactly is posture?
Posture is basically the position in which our body is while we stand, sit, or lie down. A good posture involves the right alignment of the body parts supported by sufficient muscle tension. Without having the right posture as well as the supporting muscles to control posture, we would fall to the ground.
Importance of good posture
A good posture assists in standing, walking, sitting, and lying in such positions that put the least strain on the supporting ligaments and muscles during movement. Correct posture does the following functions:

Consequences of having a poor posture
If you have a poor posture, then this can cause excessive strain on the postural muscles. It might even cause the muscles to relax if they are held in a particular position for long periods. For instance, it is quite visible in those who tend to bend forward for a long time at work. Consequently, these people are more susceptible to back pain and injury.
