If a specific medication is not in the PainScale database, a request can be made to add it to the database by selecting the person icon in the upper left-hand corner of the home screen.

This will open the “My Health Profile” page.

On the “My Health Profile” page, scroll down to the “Medicine Cabinet” section and select “Edit.”

A list of medications in the PainScale database will appear on the screen. To request the addition of a new medication, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Add More Medications.”

This will open a page that allows new medication requests. To request an addition of a new medication, type the specific medication name in the search bar at the top of the page.

When entering the medication in the search bar, medications (prescription, over-the-counter, supplements and vitamins) in the database will appear on the list. If the specific medication does not appear in the list, it is possible to have it added to the medication database.

To add a medication that is not in the database, make sure to include the name, dosage, and dosage form (i.e., tablet, liquid, nasal spray, etc.); then, select “Request to add ‘medication name.’”

To add a vitamin or supplement that is not in the database, make sure to include the full name of the item, the name of the manufacturer, and the dosage (if provided for the product); then, select “Request to add ‘medication name."

To add a CBD product that is not in the database, make sure to include the full name of the item, the name of the manufactuer, the dosage and dose form (i.e., tablet, liquid, nasal spray, etc.); then, select “Request to add ‘medication name.’” Note: PainScale can only add CBD products that can be confirmed via the Internet.

To add a Cannabis product that is not in the database, make sure to include the full name of the item, the name of the manufactuer, the dosage and dose form (i.e., tablet, liquid, nasal spray, etc.); then, select “Request to add ‘medication name.’” Note: PainScale can only add Cannabis containing products that can be confirmed via the Internet.

After requesting to add a medication to the PainScale database, a confirmation message will be sent to the in-app message box, which can be found at the top right-hand corner of the home screen.

Medication requests take from 24 to 48 hours to be completed. A message will be sent to the in-app message box when the medication has been added.
